Job summary

Beyond New Horizons is seeking a Mechanical/Aerospace Systems Engineer to support hypersonic wind-tunnel testing at Tunnel 9, MD. You will own major systems, manage projects from planning to execution, and develop mechanical designs for tunnel components while ensuring readiness for tests.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (2+ years), U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain security clearance. Preferred: MS degree, Secret clearance, and hands-on CAD/FEA experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with at least 2 years of professional mechanical or aerospace engineering experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and AEDC LAN.
• U.S. Citizenship required for employment at AEDC.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned systems across their full lifecycle, including configuration control and obsolescence planning.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute facility and equipment improvement projects with budgeting and scheduling.
• Develop mechanical designs for components, tooling, and interface hardware for test operations.
• Produce and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, and release documentation.
