Job summary

North Wind seeks an accomplished mechanical/aerospace design engineer to lead mechanical subsystem design for wind tunnel and hypersonic facilities. You will perform FEA, document calculations, and present results to customers and internal teams.

Collaboration with controls, software, and facilities engineering is essential. The role requires 10+ years of relevant experience, a solid background in welded structures, and US person status due to security requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited university.
• 10+ years of practical work experience in design engineering, systems engineering, or similar roles with large industrial equipment or facilities.
• US Person status due to security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical subsystems for wind tunnel and hypersonic facilities.
• Perform FEA analysis to substantiate subsystems against requirements.
• Document calculations, designs and verification plans; lead reviews.
• Support fabrication, procurement, installation, and vendor selection.
• Manage resources to meet schedules and budgets in collaboration with the Project Manager and Chief Engineer.
• Assist in developing proposals and cost estimates with Marketing.
