Job summary

Stratolaunch is seeking a high-impact leader to manage the Propulsion Systems Section within the Engineering Department. You will report to the Engineering Department Manager and lead a team responsible for hypersonic propulsion, collaborating with senior technical leaders to drive best practices and talent development.

The role requires strong communication, a track record of technical leadership, and experience recruiting engineers.

Qualifications

• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and peer review for direct reports and programs.
• Collaborate with senior technical leaders to establish and enforce best practices and standards.
• Support Department Manager with employee development and retention initiatives.
• Partner with HR and Talent Acquisition to identify qualified candidates and hire engineers in line with program goals.
• Lead performance management and development for direct reports.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures (timekeeping, handbook, etc.).
• Assist in meeting staffing needs and resolving resource conflicts.
• Support strategic staffing initiatives and proposal efforts as needed.
• Balance overhead management with program-charged tasks such as Bid & Proposal or IR&D.
