Job summary

Southland Industries, a leader in MEP services, seeks a Program Design Phase Manager to guide design projects from planning through execution. You will partner with Design PMs, align with client requirements, and ensure consistent delivery across programs.

Responsibilities include managing multi-project scopes, fostering client relationships, and leading cross-functional teams while maintaining profitability and compliance with engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Science, or equivalent technical training and related experience.
• 6+ years of progressive engineering or construction management experience.
• PE licensure preferred.
• Outstanding organizational skills and time management skills.
• Excellent analytical and technical writing skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Advanced computer proficiency, including MS Office and familiarity with Autodesk Products and Revit.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment while adhering to project deadlines.
• Outstanding project management skills.
• Ability to efficiently review and critique construction documents.
• Understanding of MEP calculations and design, building codes and standards, and MEP system costs.
• Ability to develop design tasks and distribute amongst the design team.

Responsibilities

• Manages larger or several smaller design-build and design-assist projects.
• Develops and maintains client relationships; coordinates with cross-functional teams.
• Communicates and manages goals and schedules with business development, engineering, estimating, and PM.
• Manages all financial aspects of the design contracts to maintain profitability and cash flow.
• Coordinates engineering resources to develop conceptual designs to support estimating.
• Trains less experienced team members and ensures compliance with engineering standards.
• Develops and maintains document control and ensures compliance with standards.
• Plans and coordinates on-site field surveys to collect and deliver design data.
• Assists in early procurement leveling efforts as required.
