Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Production Systems Engineer to join Data Center Operations. The role focuses on automating server repair and tooling in a hyperscale environment, using Python, Bash, C/C++, and Linux to improve reliability and efficiency across thousands of servers.

You will analyze telemetry data to prioritize automation efforts, write and maintain production tooling, and collaborate with global teams to drive fleet health, uptime, and cost-effective operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in production systems engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience with fleet automation and data center operations.
• Experience developing automation tooling in Python/Bash/C/C++ for Linux-scale environments.
• Experience with production systems including web servers, databases, and storage.

Responsibilities

• Identify and root‑cause systemic issues across the server fleet to maximize uptime.
• Write, review, and maintain code for diagnostic and automation tooling.
• Own and develop diagnostic tooling requirements for frontline teams.
• Drive escalation to resolve complex tooling and hardware issues.
• Validate new product integrations into production environments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional tooling teams on roadmaps.
• Perform data analysis to prioritize server repair automation opportunities.
• Build relationships to improve global data center operations efficiency.
• Mentor other engineers on fleet issues and tooling improvements.
• Travel up to 25% to support global operations.
