Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Production Systems Engineer to join the Data Center Operations team. The role focuses on automation and data-driven improvements across a hyperscale server fleet, including developing diagnostic tooling and coordinating with global teams.

You will analyze telemetry, write production tooling in Python/Bash/C/C++, and drive fleet health initiatives. Travel up to 25% supports global deployments and site expansions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years in production systems engineering, infra engineering, or large-scale systems software development.
• 6+ years in hardware lifecycle, fleet automation, or data center operations systems.
• Experience developing systems software or automation tooling in Python, Bash, PHP, C, or C++ for Linux environments at scale.
• Experience with production systems configuration including web servers, load balancers, databases, storage, and messaging systems.
• Strong written communication and cross-functional stakeholder alignment across engineering and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify and root-cause systemic issues across the server fleet to maximize uptime.
• Develop and maintain diagnostic and automation tooling for production servers.
• Own diagnostic tooling requirements for frontline operations teams.
• Lead escalation for tooling and hardware issues affecting fleet health.
• Validate and verify new product integrations into production environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional tooling teams to inform roadmaps.
• Analyze data to prioritize automation opportunities in repair workflows.
• Mentor engineers on fleet issue evaluation and tool/process improvements.
