Job summary

Meta seeks an experienced Production Systems Engineer to join Data Center Operations. You will drive automation for server repair in a hyperscale environment, write tooling, and coordinate with globally distributed teams to improve fleet health.

The role emphasizes deep data analysis, tooling development, and cross-functional collaboration, with up to 25% travel to support global deployments. Strong communication and Linux production experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years in production systems engineering or related fields.
• 6+ years in hardware lifecycle management, fleet automation, or data center ops.
• Experience with Python, Bash, PHP, C/C++ for Linux production environments.
• Experience with production system configuration and maintenance of web servers, databases, storage, messaging.

Responsibilities

• Identify and root cause systemic issues across the server fleet to maximize uptime and utilization.
• Write, review, and maintain code for diagnostic and automation tooling for production servers.
• Own and develop diagnostic tooling requirements for frontline operations teams.
• Drive escalation for complex tooling and hardware issues affecting fleet health.
• Execute operational validation for new product integration into production.
• Collaborate with tooling teams to influence roadmaps and solutions.
• Perform data analysis to prioritize automation opportunities for server repair.
• Build cross-functional relationships to improve global data center operations.
• Mentor engineers on fleet issues and tooling improvements.
• Travel up to 25% for global site support.
