Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Production Systems Engineer to join the Data Center Operations team. This role focuses on automating server repair workflows and developing diagnostic tooling for thousands of servers across global data centers.

You will analyze data, code automation solutions in Python/C/C++, and collaborate with distributed teams to drive uptime and efficiency. Travel up to 25% for site deployments and fleet health initiatives is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/CE or related field.
• 6+ years in production systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or systems software for large-scale hardware.
• Experience with Python, Bash, PHP, C, or C++ in Linux-based production environments.
• Experience configuring production systems including web servers, load balancers, databases, storage, and messaging systems.
• Strong written communication to document designs and align stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify root causes across the server fleet to maximize uptime using hardware data and telemetry.
• Write and maintain code for diagnostic and automation tooling.
• Develop tooling requirements for frontline operations to repair fleets.
• Lead escalation for tooling and hardware issues impacting fleet health.
• Validate new products in the production environment.
• Collaborate with tooling teams to influence roadmaps with an operations perspective.
• Perform deep data analysis to prioritize automation opportunities for server repair workflows.
• Foster cross-functional relationships to improve data center efficiency.
• Mentor engineers on troubleshooting fleet issues and tooling improvements.
• Travel up to 25% for global data center support.
