Job summary

BE&K Building Group is seeking a Superintendent to lead Hygenic Process Piping projects on-site, ensuring safety, quality, and performance. You will manage field crews, coordinate with project teams, and enforce adherence to schedules and specifications.

The role demands strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to handle complex field challenges while maintaining BE&K standards and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering (not required)
• 8–12 years of related construction project experience
• Excellent team development and leadership abilities
• Strong ability to partner with PM and staff
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to handle ambiguity and tight oversight
• Business judgment balancing budget and construction processes
• Problem-solving skills and decisive action

Responsibilities

• Oversee, manage, and document all day-to-day job site activities including OSHA safety compliance
• Direct field personnel according to the project plan
• Communicate issues, events, performance, and progress daily to the Project Manager
• Report problems promptly to the Project Manager to facilitate cost-effective solutions
• Establish effective working relationships with Clients, BE&K team members and subcontractors
• Request advice and assistance from the General Superintendent or Project Executive on materials, sequencing, scheduling, logistics, and personnel
• Identify pre-mobilization activities and develop start-up schedule with Project Manager and send for review
• Formulate and implement construction schedules; maintain baseline schedule; update monthly
• Safety: ensure subcontractors participate in pre-construction safety meetings; review site safety plan
• Quality Management: establish benchmarks; ensure inspections are conducted and documented
• Subcontractor and Site Management: manage pre-construction, mobilize field office, manage subcontractor performance
• Meeting Management: attend/lead various meetings including safety, foreman, and owner meetings
• Administrative Management: complete office checklists, daily reports, manage material deliveries
• Project Closeout: manage subcontractor closeout, transfer of utilities, owner training
