Job summary

Actalent, based in Elm City, NC, seeks an experienced Hydronic / Dirty Utility Superintendent to lead field teams on complex industrial projects. You will direct hydronic and process piping activities, coordinate piping systems installation, and drive safety and quality across the project.

You will supervise foremen, pipefitters, welders, and subcontractors, develop look‑ahead plans, manage labor and materials, and ensure turnover meets project specifications and codes. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of industrial piping or mechanical construction experience.
• 3+ years as a Superintendent or senior foreman leading field crews.
• Experience reading P&IDs, drawings, and BIM models.
• Experience managing self-perform labor and subcontractors on industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate all hydronic and process piping field activities.
• Supervise foremen, pipefitters, welders, and subcontractors.
• Develop daily and weekly work plans aligned to milestones.
• Manage labor productivity, manpower forecasting, and resources.
• Monitor installation progress and resolve field issues.
• Oversee installation of piping systems and equipment.
• Coordinate testing, startup, commissioning, and turnover.
• Lead safety culture and OSHA compliance.
• Review drawings and coordinate BIM coordination models.
• Maintain quality assurance and manage punch lists.
