Job summary

HDR is seeking a Structural Engineer to support its Hydropower Practice. You will review documents, write specifications, and coordinate multi-discipline teams through design and construction phases. The role includes field involvement and interface with regulatory reviews to ensure code compliance and timely delivery.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, a PE license, and prior experience in a consulting or architectural/engineering setting. Hydropower exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license recognized by the licensing board for the location.
• Previous structural engineer experience.
• Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Proficiency with MS Office and structural design software (AutoCAD, RAM/ETABS/SAFE/Staad/SAP/Tedds).

Responsibilities

• Review structural documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
• Write and edit structural specifications, select procedures and sizes, perform calculations.
• Independently coordinate the structural design team through development to contract documents.
• Coordinate with agencies for code compliance.
• Lead design sessions at the project site with PM and other disciplines.
• Manage workload through design phases to meet schedule.
• Incorporate changes from addenda and RFIs into documents.
