Job summary

HDR is seeking a Structural Engineer to support its Hydropower Practice in the United States. The role involves reviewing documents, coordinating the design team, and ensuring code compliance across design development and construction phases.

You will interact with clients and manage workload to meet project milestones. Preferred candidates hold a Master's in Civil/Structural Engineering and have experience with hydropower projects or power facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer license (PE) or equivalent is required.
• Preferred: Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Previous structural engineer experience in AE/engineering consulting is expected.
• Experience coordinating design teams and interfacing with clients is desired.

Responsibilities

• Review structural documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
• Write and edit structural specifications and calculations; select procedures and materials.
• Coordinate the structural design team through design development and contract document phases.
• Coordinate meetings with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Conduct design development and contract document work sessions with PM and other disciplines.
• Manage workload through design development and construction document phases to meet schedules.
• Incorporate changes from RFIs, change proposals, and change orders into documents.
• Perform other duties as needed.
