Job summary

HDR is seeking a Structural Engineer to support our Hydropower Practice. The role involves reviewing structural documents, preparing specifications, and coordinating with multi-discipline teams on design development and construction documents for utility projects.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, a PE license, and prior experience in an engineering consulting environment. The position emphasizes collaboration with clients and field teams across complex hydropower

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required or must be obtained.
Previous structural engineering experience in an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
Proficiency with design software: AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE.

Responsibilities

Review structural documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
Write and edit structural specifications and select procedures and materials.
Coordinate structural design team through design development and CD phases.
Lead meetings with governing agencies for code compliance.
Conduct design development and CD work sessions at project sites with PM and other disciplines.
Coordinate workload through design development and CD phases to meet schedules.
Coordinate with affected disciplines on addenda, RFIs, change orders; incorporate changes.
Perform other duties as needed.
