HDR, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer to support its Hydropower Practice in Charlotte, NC.

The role involves designing, reviewing, and coordinating structural work for utility projects, with emphasis on reliability and code compliance. Ideal candidates will hold a Civil/Structural PE license, have hydro experience or interest, and be ready to lead design development and site coordination with multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Requires professional engineering license (PE) recognized by the local licensing board.
• Previous structural engineer experience in consulting or related settings.
• Experience with design software: AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar.

Responsibilities

• Review structural documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
• Write/edit structural specifications and perform calculations.
• Coordinate the structural design team through development and contract phases.
• Lead meetings with agencies for code compliance.
• Conduct site design development and document sessions with project manager.
