PG&E in Chico, CA is seeking an experienced Relay Protection Electrical Technician (Hydro) to calibrate, install, test, and maintain protective relay systems at hydro facilities and substations. You will work with microprocessor and electro-mechanical relays, SCADA, and associated equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role requires travel between site locations, outdoor work in variable weather, and adherence to stringent safety procedures.

Competenze

• Must have High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Certified journeyman electrician with 2+ years in relay and control preferred.
• Experience with protective relay devices in substations or powerhouses is a plus.
• Proficiency in reading electrical drawings and schematics.
• Ability to travel to multiple hydro facilities within the PG&E service region.

Mansioni

• Install, test, and maintain protective relay equipment and related wiring.
• Calibrate electro-mechanical and microprocessor relays (distance, overcurrent, faults, etc.).
• Test current transformers, power transformers, and various transducers.
• Operate a company vehicle and follow PG&E safety standards.
