Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver's License or ability to obtain on first day of hire.
• Ability to work in all types of weather extremes.
• Ability to drive safely in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to wear company-provided PPE.
• Must be able to lift 100 pounds at least once daily.
• 3 years of experience testing protective relay equipment in a power station or high voltage substation or related training/education.

Responsibilities

• Complete documentation and test reports to meet regulatory compliance.
• Perform electrical power switching.
• Test and troubleshoot SCADA/EMS configurations and systems.
• Plan work and submit clearance applications to Operations Control Center.
• Test and commission switchgear and network relays.
• Direct apprentices and possibly electricians.
• Program, install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain protective relays and control systems.
• Maintain and revise engineering drawings and field documents.
• Lift and move tools and equipment up to 100 pounds in challenging terrain.
• Work on ladders with PPE and operate a company vehicle.
• Record test results and work safely in a team environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
