Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Hydraulic Structures Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. You will design hydraulic structures for flood control, water resources projects, and related facilities, while leading and coordinating with other engineers and disciplines.

The role includes proposing scopes and budgets, managing schedules and workloads, and performing construction phase support. Travel may be required; PE license and a strong background in hydraulics are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
10 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Analyze and design hydraulic structures for flood control, dams, spillways, and canals.
Lead project teams of structural engineers and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
Prepare project proposals with scopes, budgets, and schedules.
Forecast workload and schedules; monitor budgets and timelines.
Prepare contract documents, drawings, specs, and cost estimates.
Provide engineering services during construction and review submittals.
Conduct inspections and risk analyses for hydraulic structures.
Present technical information to teams, clients, and review boards.
Mentor junior staff and support business development activities.
