Job summary
CDM Smith is seeking a Hydraulic Structures Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. You will analyze and design hydraulic structures for flood control and water projects, lead project teams and coordinate with engineers across disciplines, and contribute to proposals and budgets.
You will perform construction phase services, inspect structures, present technical results to clients, conduct risk analyses, and mentor junior staff while managing schedules and budgets with up to 40% travel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering.
- PE license required.
- 10 years of related experience.
- Willing to travel 20-40%.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and design hydraulic structures for flood control and water projects.
- Lead project teams of structural engineers.
- Prepare proposals, budgets and schedules.
- Forecast workload and schedules.
- Prepare contract documents and bid packages.
- Perform construction engineering and shop drawing reviews.
- Conduct inspections and prepare reports.
- Present technical briefs to clients and review boards.
- Conduct risk analyses for hydraulic structures.
- Mentor junior staff.
