Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Hydraulic Structures Engineer to join our multi-discipline team. You will analyze and design hydraulic structures for flood control and water resources projects, lead cross-disciplinary engineering teams, and contribute to proposals and project execution.

The role involves developing contract documents, overseeing budgets and schedules, and performing construction support. Candidates should hold a PE license, have a civil/structural background, and bring at least 10 years

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
Professional engineering (PE) license.
10 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency varies by duties.

Responsibilities

Analyze and design hydraulic structures related to flood control, hydroelectric, and other water resource projects (dams, gates, spillways, canals).
Lead project teams of structural engineers and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
Prepare project proposals with scopes, budgets, and schedules.
Forecast workload and schedules; manage budgets and deadlines.
Prepare contract documents, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
Perform engineering services during construction and review submittals and contractor questions.
Conduct inspections and prepare reports on existing structures.
