Job summary

AvonRisk, a leading specialty risk manager serving self-insured organizations, seeks a Claims Manager to oversee a claims unit and drive performance, coaching staff, and ensuring compliance with laws and company standards.

The role includes supervising performance reviews, mentoring staff, and maintaining coordination with other departments to improve processes and outcomes. Prior California Labor Code knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Project management experience required.
• Strong change management and communication skills.
• Proven leadership and team-building capability.
• Experience coaching and evaluating staff.

Responsibilities

• Timely completion of performance reviews for the unit's personnel.
• Provide mentoring, coaching and feedback to staff in the unit.
• Ensure claims handling complies with statutes and company rules.
• Audit 10% of open inventories quarterly for accuracy and process improvements.
• Maintain professional image and teamwork across departments.
