Job summary

Hiebing is seeking a curious, motivated Web Developer to build smart digital experiences with WordPress at the center. The role blends new development with maintenance for existing clients and the potential to lead the WordPress practice.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of web dev experience, strong WordPress skills, and comfort with analytics, tagging, and marketing integrations. This hybrid role is based in Madison, WI, with some remote work and relocation as needed.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of professional web development with WordPress theme development.
• Strong HTML, CSS and JavaScript fundamentals.
• Working knowledge of PHP and WordPress development.
• Experience with WordPress themes, plugins, Gutenberg and marketing-site integrations.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Git-based version control.
• Ability to work across different technical assignments.
• Self-motivated, curious and eager to learn new technologies.
• Familiarity with analytics tagging (GA4/GTM) and consent tools.
• Accessibility awareness and WCAG fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and maintain WordPress sites, including block editor development and plugin integrations.
• Troubleshoot plugin conflicts, third-party integrations, and performance issues.
• Support website maintenance, landing pages, and content migrations.
• Assist with analytics tagging using GA4 and GTM, including QA.
• Support email development and production, including HTML emails.
• Implement and troubleshoot marketing tech integrations.
• Work within Git-based workflows, commits, PRs, releases and docs.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality work.
• Maintain security, accessibility, performance, and quality standards.
