Job summary

The Southwest Florida Water Management District is seeking a WUP Compliance Technician for a hybrid on-site/off-site role in Tampa, FL. The position supports permit compliance, data submittals, and public inquiries within the Water Use Permit Bureau, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two years related experience
• Four years related experience
• Associate's degree or higher
• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor Water Use Permits to ensure compliance requirements are met
• Assist permittees with routine permit maintenance and data submittal
• Respond to Demand Management phone calls and take public complaints
• Process letters for violations
• Quality assurance for all issued water permits to confirm correct report coding
• Review meter accuracy tests and handle aspects of Special Conditions on Water Use Permits
• Scan documents received related to Permit Compliance

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Two (2) years related experience

Four (4) years related experience

Associate's degree, or higher

Bachelor's degree (or higher)

Valid driver's license
