Job summary

Southwest Florida Water Management District is offering a student internship in the Water Use Permit (WUP) Compliance section in Tampa, FL. This on-site role provides hands-on experience with the permitting process and opportunities to work with senior staff on impactful projects related to water resource management.

Responsibilities include assisting with overpumpage and ownership transfers within WUP, visiting sites with senior team members, and performing other projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university or recognized program.
• Maintain minimum GPA: 2.5 for undergrad; 3.0 for graduate students.
• High school diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Water Use Permit (WUP) Compliance section.
• Work with senior staff on permitting processes and projects.
• Visit sites with senior team members.
• Support ownership transfers and overpumpage tasks in WUP as needed.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent, enrolled in accredited college

Minimum GPA 2.5 undergrad / 3.0 grad

Valid driver’s license
