Job summary

The Southwest Florida Water Management District is hiring for the Water Use Permit (WUP) Compliance Technician within the Water Use Compliance team. This hybrid position requires on-site work in Florida with some remote time, supporting permit data submittals, responding to calls, and ensuring permits meet quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or higher.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Two (2) years related experience for Technician 2; Four (4) years for Technician 3; Five (5) years for Technician 4; Six (6) years for Technician 5.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor Water Use Permits to ensure compliance requirements are met.
• Assist permittees with routine permit maintenance and data submittal.
• Respond to Demand Management phone calls and take public complaints.
• Process letters for violations.
• Quality assurance for all issued water permits to confirm correct report coding.
• Review meter accuracy tests and handle aspects of Special Conditions on Water Use Permits.
