Job summary

Southwest Florida Water Management District is offering a Water Use Permit Student Intern position in Tampa, FL. The internship requires enrollment in an accredited college and a minimum GPA, with duties in the Compliance and Water Use Permit sections and site visits with senior staff.

The role is located at our Tampa office, involves up to 25 hours per week, and is not eligible for insured medical benefits. Remote work is not available for this internship.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or other recognized educational program.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students or 3.0 for graduate students.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
• Preferred degrees: Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Work with overpumpage in the Compliance section.
• Work with ownership transfers in the Water Use Permit section.
• Handle other projects as needed.
• Visit sites with senior team members.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university

Preferred Degrees: Geology, Environmental Science, or related field

Preferred Degree Level: Undergraduate or Graduate
