Job summary

American Heart Association in Miami seeks a Vice President of Development to lead fundraising campaigns with strategic direction and a team of fundraising leaders, while recruiting executive volunteer partnerships.

The role drives revenue for the mission with a base salary of $120k and incentive potential up to 25% of base pay, in a hybrid, community-focused environment that supports work-life harmony and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least three years of relevant experience, preferably in development.
• At least three years of staff management experience.
• Experience leading senior leaders at the C-suite level preferred.
• Direct knowledge of special event fundraising tactics preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel the Miami area daily; reliable transportation required.
• Ability to lift and/or move large objects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Executive Director and VP to deepen donor relationships and enhance fundraising impact.
• Lead and develop a team of two direct reports, ensuring accountability for bold fundraising goals.
• Oversee development campaigns and volunteer engagement to achieve revenue targets.
• Position the Miami market for growth in Go Red for Women, Heart Ball, and Heart Walk campaigns.
• Recruit and engage medical and non-medical volunteer partners and leaders.
• Cultivate a network of volunteer partnerships to advance the mission.
