Job summary

The American Heart Association is hiring a Vice President of Development in Miami. This community-based role leads fundraising campaigns, builds donor relationships, and directs a small team to achieve revenue targets in a hybrid workplace.

The ideal candidate will guide campaigns like Go Red for Women, Heart Ball, and Heart Walk, with a base salary of $120k and potential incentives up to 25% of base pay. This position emphasizes leadership and community partnerships in the Miami area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least three years of relevant development/fundraising experience.
• Experience leading and managing staff.
• Experience engaging senior leaders (C-suite).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to travel in the Miami area daily.
• Ability to lift and/or move large objects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Executive Director, VP of Health, and Marketing & Communications Director to develop and implement strategies that deepen donor relationships and enhance our fundraising impact.
• Lead and develop a team of two direct reports, the Director of Heart Challenge and the Director of Socials, ensuring accountability and support for achieving bold fundraising goals.
• Directly oversee development and fundraising campaigns, leading staff teams to achieve bold revenue targets through effective campaign development and volunteer engagement.
• Strategically position the Miami market for aggressive growth in campaign revenue by coaching and developing fundraising campaign staff for growth in Go Red for Women, Heart Ball, and Heart Walk Campaigns.
• Identify, recruit, onboard, and engage medical and non-medical volunteer partners and leaders. Ensure that volunteer leadership represents a community influence and is empowered to champion fundraising success through their personal and corporate giving.
• Cultivate and manage a network of meaningful volunteer partnerships to advance the organization's mission, providing resources and direction to achieve campaign goals.
