Peters & May USA Inc. is expanding its US Freight Forwarding operation from Fort Lauderdale.

The Business Development Manager will identify, develop and secure new business opportunities, targeting customers across marine, manufacturing, and industrial sectors, and will build long-term relationships with decision-makers. Ideal candidates have a strong operational background with a commercial mindset, experience in international freight, and the ability to craft tailored proposals while

Qualifications

• Commercial mindset with understanding of revenue, gross profit and pricing.
• Experience in international air freight, sea freight, road freight or project logistics.
• Knowledge of import and export procedures and global trade lanes.
• Experience in customer meetings, quotations and commercial negotiation.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to manage your own workload, sales pipeline and priorities.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel for customer meetings and industry events.

Responsibilities

• Identify and target prospective customers for international freight forwarding.
• Develop and execute a structured US BD plan.
• Generate leads via calls, emails, networking and events.
• Build relationships with importers, exporters, manufacturers and buyers.
• Prepare presentations and tailored proposals.
• Manage the sales process from first contact to first shipment.
• Cross-sell services including air/sea/road freight, customs clearance and warehousing.
• Collaborate with global offices to expand cross-selling.
