Job summary

Peters & May in Fort Lauderdale is seeking an experienced Air Freight Export Operator to join our Global Freight Forwarding Division. You will manage international air export shipments from booking through final departure, coordinating with airlines, handling agents, customs brokers, overseas partners and customers to ensure cargo moves efficiently and compliantly.

The role covers airline bookings, export documentation, cargo collection and screening, shipment monitoring, pre-alerts, supplier

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in air freight export operations in freight forwarding.
• Strong knowledge of international air freight procedures and export compliance.
• Experience preparing Air Waybills, export declarations, and shipping docs.
• Knowledge of customs export processes.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines.
• Experience using freight forwarding or cargo management systems.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Fluent in English.
• Dangerous Goods certification, Spanish language skills, and marine/cargo experience would be advantageous.

Peters & May is looking for an experienced Air Freight Export Operator to join our expanding Global Freight Forwarding Division in Fort Lauderdale.

You will manage international air export shipments from booking through to final departure, coordinating with airlines, handling agents, customs brokers, overseas partners and customers to ensure cargo moves efficiently and compliantly.

The role includes arranging airline bookings, preparing export documentation, coordinating cargo collection and screening, monitoring shipments, issuing pre-alerts, processing supplier invoices and customer billing, and supporting the sales team with quotations and operational guidance.

What we are looking for

• Three to five years' experience in air freight export operations within a freight forwarding environment.
• Strong knowledge of international air freight procedures, airline operations and export compliance.
• Experience preparing Air Waybills, export declarations and supporting shipping documentation.
• Knowledge of customs export processes.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines.
• Experience using freight forwarding or cargo management systems.
• Authorisation to work in the United States.
• Fluency in English.

Dangerous Goods certification, Spanish language skills, and experience with marine, time-critical, high-value or specialist cargo would be advantageous.
