Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions in Nashville, TN is seeking an Underwriting Associate to join our Transactional Surety team on a hybrid schedule. You will support underwriters, process new and renewal submissions, and serve as the first contact for brokers.

This role emphasizes accuracy, client communication, and collaborative problem-solving. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in underwriting support, a relevant degree, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of underwriting support or related insurance experience.
• Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication, professional with brokers/clients.

Responsibilities

• Support underwriters in developing and servicing transactional surety business.
• Within delegated authority, approve/decline/issue transactions for new business and renewals.
• Document underwriting files and ensure completeness for final review.
• Serve as the first point of contact for brokers and producers.
• Research and resolve moderately complex questions regarding Surety processes.
• Occasionally travel with underwriters to key producers/accounts.
• Assist in developing new processes or systems to improve Surety operations.
• Mentor and train other Underwriting Associates and Assistants.
