Job summary

Network Rail Consulting (NRC) is the international consultancy arm of Network Rail. It seeks a Traction Power Engineer to join the Seattle team, delivering advisory services in traction power, overhead catenary and electrification, and supporting clients with asset management and reliability initiatives.

The role reports to the Traction Power lead and involves writing reports, delivering presentations, and ensuring work is performed safely and to NRC standards, with hybrid working options

Qualifications

• US Professional Engineer qualification or equivalent UK Incorporated Engineer (IEng) desirable.
• Knowledge of power systems engineering standards and safety.
• Experience in traction power, overhead catenary, and maintenance techniques.

Responsibilities

• Direct support in power systems engineering and maintenance environments.
• Build strong client relationships and evaluate improvement opportunities.
• Assess maintenance, inspections, renewals, and asset data processes.
• Develop asset policies and reliability initiatives.
• Lead investigations into system or equipment failures as needed.
• Analyze asset failure data to inform policy and reliability plans.
• Prepare professional reports, deliver presentations, and represent NRC.
• Maintain safety and adhere to NRC procedures.
