Job summary

Sound Transit in Seattle seeks a senior engineer to provide electrical power engineering support for the Capital Delivery Maintenance Development Program, focusing on traction electrification, OCS, substations, and related automation. You will review design deliverables, input requirements, and help implement system enhancements for reliability.

The role requires collaboration across agency teams and effective communication of complex technical information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or closely related field.
• Four (4) years of experience in mechanical systems engineering in design, construction or operations and maintenance of complex industrial mechanical systems.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and inputs to formal design deliverables to ensure compliance with agency criteria and procedures.
• Provides input to design requirements based on asset performance and operating needs.
• Develops system enhancements to improve reliability and performance of maintenance facilities.
• Supports design, installation and commissioning of new assets; serves as the project contact with activation teams.
• Collaborates with agency groups to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure and promotes new technologies.
• Provides engineering economic analysis to determine total cost of ownership.
