Job summary

Rize Federal Credit Union is seeking a temporary Collector in Loss Prevention to work with members, negotiate repayment plans, and minimize losses while delivering empathetic service. Based in Irwindale, CA, you will manage delinquent accounts, explore loss mitigation options, and support members through financial hardship in a hybrid in-office/remote setting.

You will handle documentation, compliance with FDCPA, and collaborate with legal and collection agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of collections or related field experience, preferably in financial services.
• Knowledge of FDCPA, Rosenthal Act and applicable regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Account management: monitor delinquent accounts and communicate with members.
• Negotiate repayment terms and set up payment plans.
• Evaluate options like loan modifications and extensions.
• Restrict account activity as needed and flag for charge-off when appropriate.
• Oversee collateral protection for secured loans.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and FDCPA guidelines.
