RLI, a Glassdoor Best Places to Work company, is seeking a Technical Claim Director for the GL Major Case Unit in a hybrid arrangement. The role handles high-exposure bodily injury and property damage claims across the United States (excluding New York) with expert evaluation and strategic resolution guidance.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in legal/insurance related experience, a JD is beneficial, and a proven ability to lead complex claims and coordinate with underwriting and defense

Qualificações

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant legal or insurance experience with general liability claims.
• A Juris Doctorate with relevant insurance coverage or defense litigation experience would be beneficial.

Responsabilidades

• Handle high-exposure, complex bodily injury and property damage claims across the United States (excluding New York).
• Manage all aspects of claim-handling including fact investigation, coverage analysis, damages evaluation, and litigation management.
• Evaluate claims and set resolution strategies, including mediations and trials for complex cases.
• Develop and implement claim resolution strategies and identify when trial is appropriate.
• Select, retain, and direct defense counsel on litigated cases.
• Collaborate with Underwriting on industry trends and relevant case law that impact product lines.
