Avalon Risk Management Insurance Agency LLC seeks a proactive claims coordinator based in Schaumburg, IL. You will support the bond team by preparing and organizing claim documentation, contacting importers and brokers, and ensuring timely escalation and resolution of issues.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to learn complex processes and manage a high volume of documentation.
• Ability to stay organized under external deadlines and communicate professionally.
• Experience in areas such as insurance support, importation, logistics, contracts, finance, billing, or other detail-intensive environments is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Proactively contact importers and brokers to gather claim documentation and build the claim file.
• Identify suspicious or concerning claims activity and create a ticket for escalation.
• Communicate details of claims activities to the Bond Underwriting team.
• Recommend an intent-to-terminate on delinquent bonds when escalation is warranted.
• Make basic claim payment recommendations to Surety Claim Specialists based on guidelines.
• Email Liquidated Damages claims prior to demand on surety to importers and brokers.
• Collect and record proof of payment and other documents to mitigate claims.
• Document and upload documents to claim files with accuracy and timeliness.
• Escalate and forward files to Claim Specialists (adjusters).
• Coordinate collateral verification checks using templates.
• Send Intent to Terminate notifications on delinquent bonds.
• Search for current address/contact information for importers online.
• Assist with payments involving brokers, importers, and Customs as needed.
• Assist with data gathering, recording in systems, and generating claim tracking reports.
