Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Designer to collaborate with engineers and designers on high and extra high voltage substation projects in a hybrid setup. The role involves preparing diverse drawings, coordinating with vendors, and performing client walkdowns at substations.

Candidates should have 6+ years of substation design experience, and possess AutoCAD or MicroStation proficiency with Bentley Substation Design familiarity. Relocation benefits may apply based on location.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Drafting or Bachelor's in Engineering Technology, or HS diploma with 3+ years drafting coursework or equivalent
• Minimum 6 years of substation physical design experience
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation; familiar with Bentley Substation Design; able to visualize parts in 3D without CAD

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and designers in HV substation design to prepare General Arrangement, Electrical Equipment Plans, Section Views, BOMs, and related drawings
• Interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables
• Conduct walkdowns at client substation facilities
