Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years advising experience or 6 years equivalent education/experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal/state policies governing academic advising.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations and collaborate with staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising to current and prospective students in multiple modalities (in-person, virtual, phone, email).
• Guide students on degree requirements and course selection; help set educational and career goals.
• Track student progress and provide just-in-time interventions and referrals as needed.
• Verify degree progress, remove holds, and process forms to ensure timely progression.
• Interpret transcripts, placement results, and other student data for advising decisions.
• Enter advising notes into MyMav following documented practices.
