Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Social Work is seeking two Student Recruiters to work with the Senior Recruitment Specialist, advising for BSW/MSW, and the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs to guide inquiries to advisor assignment.

Responsibilities include coordinating undergraduate and graduate recruitment, information sessions, interviews, and counseling; traveling to events; and supporting admissions processes with a collaborative team. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, education, counseling, psychology or related field.
• 1-3 years of higher education or relevant experience.
• Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom, and social media.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Commitment to diversity and a respectful environment.

Responsibilities

• Represent VCU at student recruitment events and activities.
• Serve as a university liaison and provide information about the university to prospective students and families.
• Plan, organize, and conduct information sessions, interviews, and counseling with prospective students.
• Evaluate data and applicant credentials for admission and counsel on admissibility.
• Coordinate recruitment strategies to attract MSW and BSW students; work with university offices.
• Respond to emails, chats, and calls to encourage campus visits and applications.
• Maintain follow-up communication with students and families about admissions and financial aid.
• Participate in other admissions recruitment activities with campus partners and out-of-state.
• Maintain relationships with counselors and community leaders.
• Other duties as assigned.
