Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Social Work is seeking two Student Recruiters to support the BSW and MSW programs. You will partner with advisors, the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, and faculty to guide applicants from inquiry to advisor assignment.

Responsibilities include coordinating undergraduate and graduate recruitment events, information sessions, interviews, and counseling sessions for prospective students and families; travel to college fairs and conferences; and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, counseling, psychology, or related field.
• 1–3 years of higher education or relevant experience.
• Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel for extended periods.
• Ability to work weekend/evening recruitment events.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to a respectful, professional environment for diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate undergraduate and graduate recruitment initiatives.
• Conduct information sessions, interviews, and counseling with prospective students.
• Advise prospective applicants on requirements and documents and admissions.
• Travel to recruitment events including college fairs and conferences.
• Maintain follow-up communication with students and families.
• Collaborate with university offices to attract MSW/BSW students.
• Represent VCU at recruitment events and act as liaison to managers.
