Job summary

MOHELA is seeking a Customer Care Specialist to provide exceptional service to loan customers through inbound and outbound calls. You will help customers understand repayment options and work toward resolving accounts, combining remote and in-office work during a structured 5-week training.

The role requires strong communication, reliable internet, and a commitment to excellent customer service. Training is Monday–Friday, ET, with after-training shifts scheduled in two possible patterns.

Qualifications

• Minimum: high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience, preference for call center, student lending, or financial aid experience.
• Demonstrated stable work history.
• Ability to participate in mandatory 5-week training.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer navigation skills; multitasking across screens.
• Understanding of student loan servicing and clear communication of program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with managing and repaying loans via inbound and outbound calls.
• Explain options and guide customers toward successful account resolution.
• Meet onboarding and training requirements and adapt to hybrid work.
• Maintain professionalism and empathy during customer interactions.
• Operate MOHELA systems efficiently and responsibly during shifts.
