Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mid-level Structural Engineer in San Juan, Puerto Rico. You will collaborate with a team of engineers across disciplines, applying structural analysis, design of steel and concrete members, and code compliance to a variety of projects.

Expect a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and two remote, plus a generous relocation package depending on location. Strong Spanish and English communication is required along with a relevant ABET-accredited degree and

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree with structural focus
• 3+ years on project teams in design/analysis of structures (steel and concrete)
• Experience with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS)
• Familiar with ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI design codes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in Spanish and English

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel and concrete design
• Work on a wide range of projects for various clients
• Prepare and review design calculations, develop specifications, coordinate with designers
• Perform analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations
• Travel to client/vendor offices and plant sites for reviews and field verification
• Operate in a hybrid work environment with three days in office and two remote days
• Relocation package may be provided depending on location
