Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to support our energy projects, with a focus on power generation. The role offers a hybrid work model and opportunities to work across multiple offices in the United States.

You will contribute to structural design, code compliance, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams on challenging projects, including heavy industrial facilities. Some travel to site locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 2+ years of heavy industrial and/or power generation experience.
• +4 years of experience (preferred).
• EIT or PE license (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience of structural steel design and reinforced concrete design.
• Proficient with building codes such as AISC, ACI 318, IBC and ASCE 7.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with civil drainage and sitework design.
• Knowledge of structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro.
• Enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, with ambition and drive.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analyses and design under the direct supervision of experienced and licensed professional engineers.
• Provide engineering support for multi-discipline design projects from work scope development until the completion of construction.
• Evaluate and apply applicable building code requirements and design code requirements (e.g. IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC).
• Travel to project site and meetings as needed.
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving structural engineering problems including building 3D analytical structural models.
• Assist with productions of drawing and documents.
• Develop technical specifications, plans, and details.
