Job summary

San Diego Foundation is seeking a Project Manager, Stormwater Engineer for the San Diego Foundation's ARPA-funded GSI demonstration program. The hybrid role requires coordinating with the County of San Diego, San Diego Youth Services, and other partners to plan, procure, and implement the project.

The role emphasizes strong project management, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement in a fast-paced environment in San Diego County.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in stormwater management or environmental/project management.
• Experience with mid- to large-scale public infrastructure or GSI projects.
• Proven track record managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of stormwater regulations and permitting processes.
• Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, GIS) and PM tools (Asana).
• Strong interpersonal/communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must live and work in San Diego County.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the GSI pilot program to achieve on-time, on-budget completion.
• Develop and execute project plans, timelines, and budgets aligned with ARPA requirements.
• Identify risks, mitigate issues, and adjust plans as needed.
• Prepare and issue RFPs for design and construction, ensuring compliance.
• Evaluate proposals and oversee contractor performance and compliance.
• Coordinate permits with relevant agencies and ensure federal/state/local compliance.
• Lead site visits to ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Organize stakeholder meetings and communicate milestones and updates.
