Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Civil / Water Resources Design Engineer in our Walnut Creek or Oakland, California office to join our water resources, green stormwater infrastructure, and urban stormwater practice.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of civil/water resources design experience.
• Hands-on experience with GSI, LID, drainage and creek restoration.
• Experience producing PS&E packages from concept to PS&E.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D for design deliverables.
• Knowledge of California stormwater regulations.
• Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Valid U.S. driver's license for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Develop civil and water resources engineering plans, profiles, details, specifications, estimates, calculations, and design documentation for municipal stormwater, drainage, GSI, LID, and related projects.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, storm drain evaluations, and stormwater infrastructure sizing for various water resource projects.
• Prepare and review construction drawings, technical specifications, engineer’s estimates, and other design deliverables from conceptual to final design.
• Prepare and review construction-phase RFIs, submittals, and design change notifications for active projects, and attend construction progress meetings.
• Support stormwater regulatory compliance related to NPDES permits, MRP, and CGP.
• Conduct field investigations and collect data to evaluate existing drainage infrastructure, site conditions, utilities, infiltration conditions, and design feasibility
• Coordinate civil design with clients, surveyors, geotechnical engineers, landscape architects, utility owners, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Manage assigned scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, and QA/QC for multiple concurrent assignments.
