Job summary

Oregon Department of Education seeks a Science, Math, and Integrated STEM Education Specialist to lead statewide standards and HQIM efforts. The role partners with districts, ESDS, and organizations to advance equitable, high-quality science and math instruction across Oregon.

The position emphasizes technical assistance, professional learning, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to improve instructional practices and student outcomes statewide. Travel statewide may be required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education or related field required; five years of education experience in the specialty area.
• Two years of which include leadership experience (e.g., lead teacher, program coordinator/director).
• Doctorate may substitute for two years of education experience, not for leadership).
• Oregon Administrative License may substitute for leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead research, development and implementation of statewide science standards and HQIM for science, math, and integrated STEM.
• Provide technical assistance and professional learning to LEAs and educators to ensure rigorous, equitable instruction.
• Collaborate with science, math, HQIM leaders, ESDS, districts and partners to elevate best practices for equity and outcomes.
• Track HQIM implementation, align with the agency's strategic plan and communicate with internal/external partners.
