Job summary

The Pew Charitable Trusts is seeking a Senior Associate, State Policy, Substance Use Prevention and Treatment Initiative for a hybrid role based in Washington, DC. The role guides state policy engagements, conducts policy analysis, and coordinates stakeholder events to expand access to evidence-based treatment for opioid use disorders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Typically four years of applicable policy or health-related experience.
• Experience in substance use disorders or related research is preferred.
• Experience writing for internal and external audiences (policy reports, briefs, testimony).
• Strong ability to synthesize policy perspectives and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead state policy engagements that inform legislation and regulation.
• Coordinate policy scans, research, and state advocacy efforts.
• Represent Pew in meetings with policymakers and in public forums.
• Plan stakeholder meetings, webinars, and conferences to gather insights.
• Develop evidence-based policy recommendations and analyze treatment-system performance.
• Collaborate with Pew departments and project staff to support state policy objectives.
• Contribute to tasks for the project and department as needed.
