RailPros is hiring a Staff Accountant in Irving, TX for a hybrid, full-time role. You will manage the general ledger, handle month-end close, prepare journal entries, and support audits and compliance.

The position emphasizes accuracy, process improvements, and adherence to GAAP in a dynamic, people-first company culture. You will work with fixed assets, ASC 842 lease accounting, and project-based billing while partnering with other departments to ensure precision and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
• Knowledge of contract compliance and expense verification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger and month-end close procedures.
• Prepare and post journal entries; manage prepaid assets and amortizations.
• Maintain fixed asset subledger and reconcile to GL.
• Coordinate annual audit with external auditors; assist tax compliance.
• Manage lease accounting under ASC 842; assist with project accounting.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with accounting team to support software replacement/testing.
