Job summary

UC San Diego's Department of Pediatrics seeks a detail-oriented Sponsored Research Administrator to manage pre- and post-award activities across multiple divisions with a substantial portfolio. You will prepare financial analyses, forecasts, and reporting, coordinating with PI’s and central offices to ensure compliance and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus two years of related experience/training.
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, sponsor and institutional regulations, policies, and guidelines.
• Knowledge of applicable compliance requirements related to use of human or animal subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, biosafety, etc.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive financial analysis and complex fiscal management for pre- and post-award sponsored projects.
• Coordinate with PIs and central offices (OCGA, OCTA, OCAA, HSSPPO, SPF, HHR, ARC, IPPS) to ensure compliant financial management.
• Develop new procedures and reporting tools for forecasting and long-term financial planning; identify problems and propose solutions.
• Complete and approve transactions for signature; manage delegated authority as applicable.
