Job summary

American Century Investments is seeking an Investment Management Software Engineer for its OTC Technology Team in Kansas City, MO. The role is hands-on, focusing on building and evolving software for portfolio management, trading, and compliance, with Agile delivery and close collaboration with leads, owners, and architects.

You will work in a hybrid environment, reporting to the Director of Order, Trade and Compliance. The position is not visa eligible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java or Python/C#.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with Agile development.
• Experience with Git.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Team player with collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Full-stack development of front-end and back-end components.
• Write clean, maintainable code in Java, with Python opportunities.
• Design and optimize data storage with DB2/Oracle.
• Participate in SAFe Agile processes and sprint ceremonies.
• Use Git/GitHub for source control and reviews.
• Collaborate with PMs, traders, and compliance staff.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
