Job summary

Trupanion is seeking a Software Architect in Seattle to design scalable, secure, and maintainable insurance technology platforms. This hands-on leadership role partners with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to align technology with business goals and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

You will work in a hybrid office environment, influencing architectural direction, modernizing platforms, and guiding teams through implementation and delivery challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of solution architecture, software architecture, or principal-level engineering experience.
• Experience designing distributed cloud apps using C#, .NET, Azure, REST APIs, and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Define scalable architecture solutions supporting policy administration, claims, billing, and customer servicing.
• Design highly available, secure, and scalable distributed systems with modern patterns.
• Provide technical leadership and guide architecture decisions across teams.
